Cars seized, charges laid dur­ing traffic stops in Sum­mer­ford

SUM­MER­FORD, NL – Two men are fac­ing charges and had their ve­hi­cles seized fol­low­ing sep­a­rate traffic stops by the Twill­ingate RCMP in Sum­mer­ford on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 4.

A 50- year- old man has been charged with op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle while sus­pended, op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle with­out an in­surance pol­icy, im­pru­dent driv­ing, cross­ing a solid line and us­ing a false iden­ti­fi­ca­tion plate.

A 35- year- old man was charged with op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle with­out a driver’s li­cence and with­out an in­surance pol­icy.

Tick­ets is­sued as a re­sult of the two in­ci­dents to­talled over $7,500.

Twill­ingate RCMP is re­mind­ing the pub­lic valid driver’s li­cence, in­surance and ve­hi­cle reg­is­tra­tion is a re­quire­ment to op­er­ate a mo­tor ve­hi­cle in the province.
