Jail and bail raises more than $17,000

More than $17,000 was raised at this year’s edition of the Cops for Cancer jail and bail.

Held Wed­nes­day, high pro­file cit­i­zens were ‘ar­rested’ and placed in a make shift jail from where they raised bail for re­lease via phone calls to po­ten­tial do­na­tors.

The money will go to pe­di­atric cancer re­search, sup­port pro­grams and Camp Good­times and the event was held Wed­nes­day.

Mean­while, the Cana­dian Cancer So­ci­ety’s an­nual Cops for Cancer Tour de North be­gan Tues­day in Wil­liams Lake and will end Monday in Daw­son Creek.
