Jail and bail raises more than $17,000
More than $17,000 was raised at this year’s edition of the Cops for Cancer jail and bail.
Held Wednesday, high profile citizens were ‘arrested’ and placed in a make shift jail from where they raised bail for release via phone calls to potential donators.
The money will go to pediatric cancer research, support programs and Camp Goodtimes and the event was held Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Cops for Cancer Tour de North began Tuesday in Williams Lake and will end Monday in Dawson Creek.
