Plant continues musical shape-shifting
NEW YORK — Robert Plant has a new solo album but he won’t leave his Led Zeppelin legacy untouched during an upcoming, mostly soldout theatre tour of the U.S.
Says the singer: “I’ll just tell ’em in a different way.”
His album, Carry Fire, out today, continues his collaboration with a band whose name, the Sensational Space Shifters, speaks to its versatility.
But anyone going to see him live and expecting a jukebox of old hits has come to the wrong place.
If audience-members don’t like the new groove, he says, “there’s plenty of other things they can do. Bowling’s a good one.”
