Your ed­i­to­rial, “The sex crime in ev­ery man,” is such a con­fus­ing mix­ture of mes­sages, that I am just writ­ing to point out that you have quite mis­un­der­stood the word “fem­i­nism.”

A cur­sory glance at the most ba­sic dic­tio­nary on your desk top de­fines fem­i­nism as the ad­vo­cacy of women’s rights on the grounds of po­lit­i­cal, so­cial and eco­nomic equal­ity to men. The word came into be­ing in the 19th cen­tury.

It has noth­ing to do with ac­tu­ally be­ing fe­male, there­fore men can cer­tainly be fem­i­nists, and they have been and still are, his­tor­i­cally and fa­mously, sup­port­ing women in the suf­fragette move­ment early in the 20th
