Youths ar­rested af­ter SUV stolen and crashed

RCMP have ar­rested two teenage boys in re­la­tion to an ap­par­ent joyride in a stolen ve­hi­cle.

A Ford Es­cape which went miss­ing from a Sy­camore Cres­cent home some­time last Tues­day night was found crashed into a tree in Gor­don Bryant Park off First Av­enue the next af­ter­noon.

Po­lice be­lieve three youths fled the scene. No sus­pects were ini­tially found but a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were later ar­rested as a re­sult of a sub­se­quent in­ves­ti­ga­tion, RCMP said.

Both were suf­fer­ing non-life threat­en­ing in­juries be­lieved to have been from the col­li­sion, RCMP added. The two, whose names were not pro­vided, were re­leased on a prom­ise to ap­pear in court on Dec. 20.
