Police investigating death of man who was found in a parking lot in medical distress

Vancouver police are investigating the death of a man who was found in medical distress in Mount Pleasant early Thursday morning.

Just after 1:30 a.m., a passerby found a man in “apparent medical distress” in the Kingsgate Mall parking lot, near Broadway and Kingsway.

“B.C. Ambulance and police responded, and he was rushed to hospital where he died,” said Const. Jason Doucette in a news release.

“Investigators are at the scene and will continue to work with the B.C. Coroners Officer to determine the circumstance that led to the man’s death.”

No further details about the man were offered by police, though police have been able to identify him. The death is not believed to be suspicious.
