Woman, 83, dies after being hit by pickup truck in east Vancouver
An 83-year-old Vancouver woman was walking across East 30th Avenue near the east side of Main Street on Wednesday morning when she was hit by a black pickup truck making a right turn at a low speed.
Paramedics took her to hospital where she died a short time later. This is the city’s sixth pedestrian fatality of 2018, according to a statement by the Vancouver police.
The driver of the truck is co-operating with investigators.
The VPD’s collision investigation unit is asking anyone with dash-cam footage, or who may have been in the area on Wednesday between 11:20 and 11:40 a.m., to contact them at 604-717-3012.
