Police board to meet virtually
The Surrey police board is kicking things off with a public livestream later this week.
The board will host its inaugural meeting virtually this Thursday at 10 a.m., allowing for the public to sit in for the meeting from their homes.
The board was appointed by the B.C. government in June as the primary governance authority for the new Surrey Police Service.
“The SPS will be built as an innovative, modern and proactive service tailored to the needs and concerns of Surrey residents. I am thrilled we are at this pivotal moment in our city’s history,” said board chairman, Mayor Doug McCallum.
The meeting will be available at surrey.ca/policeboard.
