Infant death suspect released on bail
Andrew Cunningham made a court appearance in Liverpool on Oct. 20, and was released on bail.
Cunningham is charged with concealing the body of a child, in connection with his common-law partner Amanda Oickle. It is alleged that Oickle gave birth at their home, but did not seek medical assistance. She is facing the same charge, as well as facing charges in failing to obtain assistance in childbirth.
RCMP believe the baby died shortly after childbirth.
Police believe the couple hid the body in their apartment for several days before
at or bringing it to Queens General Hospital on Oct. 19.
Cunningham posted $1,000 bail and placed under house arrest at his sister’s residence. He must also report to the RCMP every Monday, and have no contact with Oickle.
Cunningham can leave for medical emergencies, legal appointments, or to attend court. He is also allowed to take four hours every Friday afternoon for personal errands.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 10 in Liverpool.
Oickle’s next appearance in court will be Nov. 3 In Liverpool.
