Sea­side Bridge Club - On Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 16th, there were 32 play­ers mak­ing eight ta­bles in play at the Sea­side Bridge Club in Liver­pool. The fol­low­ing were the re­sults of the play. North / South: 1. John Pit­blado & John Roblee 2. Leo Langevin & Bud We­fer 3. Eli­nor Green & Mar­ian Crosby East / West: 1. Elva Bagnall & Daisy Frail 2. Betty Kennedy & Mar­cia Clark 3. Jean Sil­ver & Marg Mosher North/South: The early rounds of play were lack­ing points for the “John-John” team. Things changed dra­mat­i­cally in Round 4. They bid two game con­tracts and a small slam to make seven. That round alone gave them 45% of their to­tal score. They con­tin­ued on, adding an ex­tra 5 game and 2 par­tial game con­tracts to their to­tal. Well Done!

East/West: Elva Bagnall & Daisy Frail took their op­por­tu­ni­ties when­ever they could. Play­ing 7 game and 4 par­tial games con­tracts, it was a sig­nif­i­cant dou­ble in Round 3 that gave their score the ad­di­tional boost needed to top the divi­sion.

Hon­ourable men­tion: is ex­tended to the team of Beryl Hatt & Sarah Peter­son for mak­ing a small slam of 6 NT. It has been re­ported that this slam was bid by Sarah and played by Beryl, her “First”. Con­grat­u­la­tions!

Sea­side Bridge Club plays party bridge each Fri­day at 1:00 to 4:30 pm in the Girl Guide Hut in Liver­pool Lions Hall, Gorham Street at Church Street Liver­pool. The at­mos­phere is re­laxed and friendly. New play­ers are wel­come. The fee of $3 per per­son in­cludes light re­fresh­ments.
