A peek preview for 2010
Trend setters provided peek previews for 2010 at the Garden and Floral Expo in Toronto last week. It was the 10th anniversary for the show, an event that most browsers visit (according to last year’s survey) to view new products.
From new varieties of flowers and fertilizers to garden decorations - exhibitors rolled out the latest.
Fernlea Flowers Ltd., one of Canada’s largest growers, specializes in branded pansies, spring annuals, and fall products. This year they showcased their new succulent and foliage lines for the spring of 2010.
J.C. Bakker & Sons Ltd. now offer a hardy, unique rose that can be planted across Canada through many climatic zones. Rosa AC Navy Lady features beautiful, dark red velvet blooms, re-blooming from mid-June through autumn frost. It offers excellent vigor and strong hardiness in a new shrub rose.
The AC Navy Lady has been named as a dedication to the thousands of Canadian women who served in the Women’s Royal Canadian Navel Service (WRCNS). Ceremonial plantings are planned across Canada.
Valleybrook Gardens is responding to growing consumer interest in edible plants. It offers garden centres a fun, exciting and unique way to promote Culinary Couture TM, a branded line of edible plants. The line features a mix of new and hard to find heirloom varieties in exciting, stylized packaging.
