Preparations finalized for official visit
The preparations for the Official Visit, of our Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron, to our Chapter on April 1st were finalized at our meeting on February 4/17. Events will start with a turkey dinner at Milton Baptist Church at 12:30 P.M. with members and Special Guests. This also marks our 69th Birthday Month so we expect a good attendance; tickets must be reserved by contacting Sis Dale Wolf, PM at 902-354-5058.
Our regular meeting will be held at Zetland Lodge hall at 2:00P.M. All members are encouraged to attend.
Special guests at our February meeting were Worthy Grand Patron, Bro Robert Turner, Past Grand Matron, Sis Annie Mae Waterbury and Past Grand Patron, Bro David Waterbury. All were welcomed with a Valentine’s poem Friendship.
Under correspondence we received; a letter from the Grand Chapter Benevolent Committee, Programs for the 70th Annual Grand Sessions of the Grand Chapter of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to be held in Truro, N.S. on July3, 4, 5, 2017 those planning to attend contact the Secretary.
A number of members were reported as sick, as well as reports of the Deaths of our brother Robert Hatt and Sis Carol Lee Mcknight’s husband, William.
Thanks were extended to the Advance for publishing our January notes.
The Worthy Matron Sis Dawn Wamboldt thanked all who are busy knitting dish cloths for the ditty bags for Grand Chapter. A motion carried to purchase 2-1/4 page ads in the Program booklet.
Sis Emily Fralic presented the Chapter with 2 bars and a jewel that had belonged to Sis Vida Prieto for safe keeping.
A motion was made to donate $25.00 to Milton Baptist Church in memory of Br. Robert Hatt.
Jams, jellies and pickles are being collected for Home-coming basket for Grand Chapter.
A Memorial was then held with the draping of our Charter in Memory of Bro Robert Hatt followed by the draping of our Altar in Memory of Bro Frank Cullen, Past Grand Patron.
Chapter then closed and all retired to the clubroom for refreshments and fellowship.
