Man charged af­ter 165 grams of co­caine seized in Green­wich re­leased from cus­tody

A New Mi­nas man charged with pos­sess­ing co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing af­ter his ve­hi­cle was searched in Green­wich will be back in court in De­cem­ber.

Jonathan Ross Allen, 28, ap­peared in Kentville provin­cial court on Nov. 7. The Crown con­sented to Allen’s re­lease on his own $5,000 non-cash re­cog­ni­zance. The mat­ter has been ad­journed to Dec. 19 for elec­tion and plea.

Ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease from the RCMP, the Val­ley In­te­grated Street Crime En­force­ment Unit stopped Allen on High­way 1 in Green­wich on Nov. 6 with as­sis­tance from the Wind­sor Street Crime En­force­ment Unit and the Kings District RCMP.

The planned stop was part of an on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion and re­sulted in the seizure of 165 grams of co­caine found inside the ve­hi­cle. The RCMP ar­rested Allen at the scene.

The charge against Allen has not been proven in court.
