Pirates results at Pre-OFSAA
The TISS Pirates cross-country team showed some encouraging signs at last week’s Pre-OFSAA Cross-Country Meet in Petawawa with some teams and individuals getting top marks. The Pirates midget girls’ team placed ninth as a team in their four-kilometre race with points collected by Ainsley Durant finishing 48th with a time of 19:15.39; Aislyn Blakely in 57th with a time of 19:42.96; Breanna Perkins in 81st with a time of 22:05.36; and Leanne Kinlin in 83rd with a time of 23:01.99. TISS’ midget boys’ team placed third overall as a team with Bronson Greaves leading the way by placing fourth in the four-kilometre race with a time of 14:00.76. Other runners earning points in the race for the midget boys included Matt Worden in 10th with a time of 14:21.22; Ryan Givogue in 38th with a time of 15:38.20; and Coulson Dowsley in 41st with a time of 15:42.56. The Pirates junior girls’ finished seventh overall as a team in the five-kilometre race with points coming from Abby Linton in 27th with a time of 26:06.89; Regan Bathurst in 30th with a time of 26:26.06; Anna Victor in 63rd with a time of 31:25.84; and Chiara Bondi in 64th with a time of 31:25.98. TISS’ junior boys’ placed third overall as a team in the fivekilometre run with race points coming from David Gill in 18th with a time of 19:46.38; Mason Jones in 22nd with a time of 20:12.49; Jordan Blanchard in 27th with a time of 20:37.17; and Clement DeColasse in 37th with a time 21:26.57. The Pirates senior girls’ finished their six-kilometre race sixth overall as a team with Lily Meek leading the charge when she crossed the finish line at 25:10.71 and in fifth place. Other TISS runners getting points for the school included Claire Cushing in 18th with a time of 27:33.17; Rachel Brayton in 36th with a time of 29:02.01; and Meredith O’Connor in 94th with a time of 34:25.78. The TISS senior boys’ team placed fifth overall in their six-kilometre race with points from Carter Rafuse in 26th with a time of 22:36.26; Cole Lidlow in 40th with a time of 23:39.66; Bennie Olak in 55th with a time of 24:15.68; and Ethan Crawford in 63rd with a time of 24:49.01. The Pirates will now head to the New York City Cross-Country Invitational held next weekend before coming home for the LGSSAA championship at Memorial Park on Oct. 20.
