Liberals pushing ‘green dream’ on Ontarians

The Recorder & Times (Brockville) - - OPINION -

The last time I looked Ontario has extremely inhospitable weather to cyclists during a good part of the year. This raises serious questions how on earth the Wynne government can possibly justify spending $93 million on more bike lanes.

We are having more and more accidents on the 401, between Kingston and Brockville especially, yet there has been no effort by Wynne to improve road conditions in that area.

In fact there has been serious concerns over how snow removal is being done on the 401, the busiest highway in Canada. There are also problems with the quality of asphalt being used on our highways since companies started using ground up car tires, old asphalt and even asphalt shingles in the mix. Roads that were supposed to last many years are falling apart rapidly.

I have to think this expanded bike lane insanity is more of the Wynne Liberals pushing their ‘green dream,’ as by having poorly maintained highways and carbon taxes raising petrol prices, it wants to force drivers out of their vehicles and onto bikes and public transport!
