Katelyn Osmond advances to ISU Grand Prix
Accomplishment puts her in elite group of Canadian skaters

“It’s incredible,” she told The Southern Gazette. “I still can’t believe that I’ve made it and to be amongst the other top skaters, and the other top Canadian skaters that have made it in the past is an incredible feeling.”
The others before her include Joannie Rochette, Cynthia Phaneuf and Josée Chouinard.
With a final score of 196, the 20- year old Marystown native said she is pleased with her performance.
“I am obviously super thrilled with getting another silver medal this year and making it to the final is also incredible,” she said. “I wish I had skated a little bit better, I wasn’t too pleased with my skate, but I am glad I get another shot in a couple weeks.”
Osmond said she is looking forward to have the opportunity to travel to France.
“It is an incredible opportunity for me,” she said.
Osmond, who set several personal bests in her last competition, , “At the last competition I made a few costly mistakes so I didn’t get a personal best, but I am glad I get another chance.”
