Marystown Fire Department and RCMP help stock food banks
Firefighters and police officers in Marystown took time from their already busy schedules to once again help the com- munity recently.
The Marystown Volunteer Fire Department collected some 36 crates of food and nearly $1,300 during its annual food drive on Nov. 26.
This year, the Burin Peninsula RCMP came on board to lend as- sistance and support.
Donations sites were set up outside Sobeys, No Frills and Wal-Mart in Marystown.
Firefighters and police officers presented the donations to the Sacred Heart Family Aid and Salvation Army foods banks.
Proceeds from the Marystown Volunteer Fire Department’s annual food drive were presented to two local food banks. The fire department joined forces with the Burin Peninsula RCMP for this year’s drive.
