Help find a home for Launda
It’s not uncommon for the Burin Peninsula SPCA to receive calls from people who have to move into assisted living housing or retirement homes and cannot take their pet with them. Many have to downsize and let go of personal items that hold precious memories.
That must be very hard to do. It must be even harder give up a pet that has been a constant companion for years. Equally, it must be as hard for the pet.
Launda was separated from her lifelong companion and removed from her safe, comfortable environment. How confused and upset she must have felt when she first arrived at the shelter. At 12- years- old, Launda quickly settled and we’re very relieved that she’s not too stressed out. She’s also being spoiled a little and spends most of her time hanging out in our office.
Launda has been examined by a vet and appears to be in great shape for her age. We’re in the process of making arrangements to get her spayed and she needs some teeth extracted. She’ll be able to go to a new home once she recovers from her surgery. She’s a gentle, kind, loving lady who’s still very active but settled and has great house manners.
If you are interested in adopting Launda or making a donation toward the cost of her surgery, estimated to cost between $ 700 to $ 800, please drop by the shelter in Salmonier, Burin from 12- 2 pm daily, call 891- 8000 or visit our website at www. burinspca. com.
Launda is looking for a loving home.
