RCSCC 237 Truxtun, Lawn host 44th annual Ceremonial Review
The commitment and training of the RCSCC 237 Truxtun in Lawn was on display as the 44th annual Ceremonial Review took place May 13.
Reviewing Officer for the event was Lieutenant Retired Patrick Tarrant, CD.
A number of awards and presentations were made at the event. • Sea Cadet Service medals recognizing four years of continuous service were presented to PO2 Darcy Edwards and PO2 Brandon Fougere.
• CPO2 Kel- lee Strang received The Navy League of Canada Medal of Excellence.
The award is presented annually to one out of every 200 of the most proficient sea cadets in the NL division and recognizes exemplary dress and deportment, near perfect attendance and community involvement.
• PO2 Darcy Edwards received the Lord Strathcona Trust Fund
Medal in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.
• The Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence was awarded to CPO1 Ashley Turner. The award is presented each year to a cadet who demonstrates community service by participating in community events as well as promoting the cadet corps through good leadership.
PO2 Darcy Edwards was presented with the Lord Strathcona Trust Fund Medal by the Reviewing Officer Lt(N) Retired Patrick Tarrant.
Able Seaman Kennedy Tarrant was awarded Most Prominent Cadet on Parade during the ACR. Patsy Curtis, representative of MHA Judy Foote, made the presentation.
Harry Roul of the Branch 58 Royal Canadian Legion, Lawn presented the Legion Medal of Excellence to CPO1 Ashley Turner.
CPO2 Kellee Strang was presented with the Navy League Medal of Excellence by Joe Jarvis of the NL division of the Navy League of Canada
PO2 Darcy Edwards was presented with the NL Service Medal by Joseph Jarvis, Navy League of Canada, NL Division.
PO2 Brandon Fougere was presented with the NL Service Medal by Joseph Jarvis, Navy League of Canada, NL Division.
