RCSCC 237 Trux­tun, Lawn host 44th an­nual Cer­e­mo­nial Re­view

The com­mit­ment and train­ing of the RCSCC 237 Trux­tun in Lawn was on dis­play as the 44th an­nual Cer­e­mo­nial Re­view took place May 13.

Re­view­ing Of­fi­cer for the event was Lieu­tenant Re­tired Pa­trick Tar­rant, CD.

A num­ber of awards and pre­sen­ta­tions were made at the event. • Sea Cadet Ser­vice medals rec­og­niz­ing four years of con­tin­u­ous ser­vice were pre­sented to PO2 Darcy Edwards and PO2 Bran­don Fougere.

• CPO2 Kel- lee Strang re­ceived The Navy League of Canada Medal of Ex­cel­lence.

The award is pre­sented an­nu­ally to one out of ev­ery 200 of the most pro­fi­cient sea cadets in the NL di­vi­sion and rec­og­nizes ex­em­plary dress and de­port­ment, near per­fect at­ten­dance and com­mu­nity in­volve­ment.

• PO2 Darcy Edwards re­ceived the Lord Strath­cona Trust Fund

Medal in recog­ni­tion of ex­em­plary per­for­mance in phys­i­cal and mil­i­tary train­ing.

• The Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Medal of Ex­cel­lence was awarded to CPO1 Ash­ley Turner. The award is pre­sented each year to a cadet who demon­strates com­mu­nity ser­vice by par­tic­i­pat­ing in com­mu­nity events as well as pro­mot­ing the cadet corps through good lead­er­ship.
