Bailey Tarrant headed for Miss Teenage Canada
Pageant winner proud to represent province
LAWN, NL – Bailey Tarrant of Lawn has been selected as Miss Teenage Newfoundland and Labrador. She was awarded the title on May 8. “It wasn’t a traditional pageant, as it’s organized by the national director of Miss Teenage Canada,” Tarrant told The Southern Gazette in an interview held over social media.
“Anyone who applied was given a phone interview with (the director). After scoring that and reviewing my application, she crowned me as Miss Teenage Newfoundland and Labrador.”
Two other girls were given regional titles, said Tarrant.
She said she was excited to be selected as Miss Teenage NL.
“I was ecstatic. Pageantry has had a huge part in shaping me into who I am today, so to win such a title was so heartwarming,” she said.
Winning is a chance to help promote Newfoundland and Labrador, said Tarrant.
“I love my province, I’ve always worn Newfoundland and Labrador on my sleeve, now I get to wear it on my sash and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Tarrant said from here she will take part in the Miss Teenage Canada competition in Toronto at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Aug. 13.
Bailey Tarrant of Lawn will compete for the Miss Teenage Canada title in August.
