The Youth Ventures Program is up and running again for Summer 2017. The program is aimed at youth, aged 12-29, who are interested in self-employment and turning their creative ideas into profitable ventures.

Lesleeanne Lambe is coordinator for the program on the Burin Peninsula.

She able to help young people develop ideas, write business plans, market and promote their product or service, and provide financial assistance information and business advice.

“Becoming an entrepreneur allows you to be your own boss,” she says. “You gain flexibility by choosing your own working hours, and develop rules and procedures to compliment you. Also, successful entrepreneurs work jobs they enjoy and make money while doing it.”

If you have an idea, hobby or interest you feel could potentially turn a profit, if you’re self- motivated, creative and ambitious and would like to be your own boss, check out the Youth Ventures program.
