Grand Bank Day celebrations
It was a fun-filled day in Grand Bank on Aug. 5 as citizens came out in large numbers to celebrate Grand Bank Day at the municipal building parking lot.
The day started with a traditional breakfast at the Partanna Auditorium, followed by the Perge Cup soccer game.
For the mid day meal, pea soup, pork cakes and a dessert lunch was served at the Masonic Hall.
Afternoon activities included dancers, local entertainment, concessions booths and traditional food.
The day concluded with the outdoor finale dance at the town hall parking lot with music by Good Time Charlie and the Hounddogs.
The Perge Cup was a big success with two teams of former Gee Bees players facing off in the Perge cup IX soccer game in memory of long-time Gee Bee Perry Herridge. The Grand Bank Rovers were one of the bands performing in the afternoon – (from left) Dave Noseworthy, Chris Emberley, Josh Parsons, Todd Bursey and John Saunders.
A large crowd turned out for the afternoon of fun.
The Rovers moved Nash Kelly to put off his one-man show.
Rhonda Scott’s dancers entertained at the festival celebrations.
Ciara Osmond tried her hand at the roll-a-ball game.
Blayze Hillier was excited with the inflatable toy he received at the festival.
