Fun times at the Feller from Fortune fest

The Southern Gazette - - EDITORIAL - FORTUNE, NL

The sun beamed brightly and the smell of freshly cooked French fries and other treats permeated in the air at the annual Feller from Fortune International Festival on Aug. 19.

There were booths where various goods and wares were on display for sale.

Children ran, hopped and danced about in front of the stage to the sounds of Charlie’s Bar Band, JohnBoy and Raquel, Barachois, All Four and more.

The afternoon also served as a fundraiser for floor repairs and upgrades to Fortune Arena.

Other events during five-day festival included the wharf rat competition, a garden party, a pre-teen soc hop, a teen dance, a fish supper, a parade of lights, a family day, a fun run and walk, a festival brunch, an ecumenical service and Burin Peninsula Got Talent.
