“It’s stressful,” he said. “It’s very expensive to me and my family to secure good legal services and it’s been going on now for most of the summer.”

Looking ahead

Synard said it has been a rough four years, but he is looking forward to the future.

“I’m really looking forward to becoming mayor once again, working with hopefully a new council to get Marystown back on track,” he said. “Get my own life back on track, as well.”

Picco said he told his client to focus on the upcoming election, and then they will decide where to go from there.

“We can then determine what other legal options he has as a result of what happened today (Aug. 29),” Picco said.
