Welcome to Kin Corner

Meeting the community’s greatest needs

Kin Canada is an all-Canadian service organization made up of dedicated member volunteers who serve their community’s greatest need by hosting and sponsoring events and community service projects.

There are about 500 Kin, Kinsmen and Kinette clubs from coast to coast, with close to 24 clubs in our province and two right here in our community – a Kinsmen and a Kinette club.

The Kin organization was founded in Hamilton, Ont. in 1920 by Harold (Hal) Rogers, who recognized the importance of educating our future generations. The Hal Rogers Endowment Fund (HREF) was created in his memory. The HREF, through the Kin Canada Bursaries program, provides financial assistance to help students pursue higher learning.

For the 2016-2017 school year, 186 applications were received and 50 students across Canada each received a $1,000-bursary.

One was awarded right here in our community to Owen Mills of Marystown.

We are proud to be part of many different events, community services, and projects. We participate in and donate to many great organizations. As we continue with the education of our organization we will focus more on our local Kin Clubs, and the services and needs we provide right here at home. We always welcome new members.

Be more than a volunteer. Join a family of Kin.

Yours in Kin, Denisine Nolan
