Ar­dens soc­cer top all three Moose Jaw op­po­nents

The Swift Cur­rent Comp. Ar­dens team got a pretty good idea of where they fit in in the Moose Jaw High School Soc­cer League as they bat­tled all three Moose Jaw teams last week and emerged with three vic­to­ries with­out con­ced­ing a goal.

The Ar­dens notched their first win of the sea­son with a 7-0 vic­tory over the Cen­tral Cy­clones on Thurs­day.

The Ar­dens led 2-0 at half­time in their home de­but be­fore pour­ing it on dur­ing a five-goal se­cond half.

Rookie Olivia Koebel led the Ar­dens with a sec­ond­half hat trick, while cap­tain Al­li­son Wall scored twice. Mid­field­ers Calli More­ausimp­son and Ilyssa Dyck also scored, while Ju­liana Whalen earned the shutout in goal.

MJ An­der­son, Jan­nae Carl­son, and Michaella Smuk all added as­sists.

The Ar­dens added a pair of shutout wins over Moose Jaw op­po­nents on Satur­day in less than favourable weather con­di­tions.

They opened the day with an 8-0 win over the Moose Jaw AE Pea­cock Tor­na­does. Wall led the Ar­dens with two goals, fol­lowed by a goal and an as­sist each from Carl­son and More­ausimp­son.

Koebel, Dyck, Kait­lyn Berggren, and Bryn Haubrich also scored. Aspen Thom­son and An­der­son also added as­sists, while Jas­mine Te­moshawsky picked up the shutout in goal.

The Ar­dens ran into a much tougher op­po­nent in the se­cond game and re­sponded with a 4-0 vic­tory over the Vanier Spir­its. Wall and An­der­son led the Ar­dens with a goal and an as­sist each.

Grade nine mid­field­ers Olivia Koebel and Bryn Haubrich also scored. Whalen earned the shutout in goal.

The Ar­dens (3-1-1) will play their fi­nal home game of the sea­son on Oc­to­ber 4 when they host the Vanier Spir­its at 4:15 p.m. at Ir­win Field.
