Colts steam­roll Elecs

The Swift Cur­rent Comp. Colts com­piled over 500 yards of to­tal of­fense as they im­proved to 4-1 in the Moose Jaw High School Foot­ball League with a 51-15 win over the host Este­van Elecs on Satur­day.

One week af­ter suf­fer­ing their first loss of the sea­son, the Colts ran the ball for 288 yards and passed for 213 yards while hold­ing the Elecs to 208 yards of of­fense. The Colts led 30-15 at half­time be­fore shut­ting out the hosts in the sec­ond half.

Re­ceiver Rhett Vavra led the Colts with 132 yards on seven re­cep­tions. He found the end­zone for touch­downs of 18, 23, and 30 yards in the win.

Shane Friesen ran the ball in the house twice as he fin­ished with 134 yards rush­ing on eight car­ries. Jor­dan Lamon­tagne carried the ball 13 times for 160 yards.

Austin Wiebe and Carter Moberg also scored touch­downs for the Colts. Moberg fin­ished the game 12-for-19 through the air for 223 yards.

The Colts’ de­fense re­cov­ered one fum­ble and Lain Cadrain made one in­ter­cep­tion, which he re­turned 21 yards.

The Colts will be back at home on Thurs­day to host the league cham­pion York­ton Re­gional Raiders at 4 p.m. to con­clude the reg­u­lar sea­son.
