Long week­end fa­tal crash oc­curred near Maple Creek

A 50 year old Maple Creek woman was killed dur­ing a Sun­day evening crash just out­side of Maple Creek.

Maple Creek RCMP re­port that a se­ri­ous two ve­hi­cle col­li­sion oc­curred on Sun­day at 7:59 p.m. on High­way #21 ap­prox­i­mately two kilo­me­tres north of Maple Creek.

The 50 year old woman driv­ing one of the ve­hi­cles was pro­nounced de­ceased at the scene. The 55-year-old man driv­ing the sec­ond ve­hi­cle sus­tained life threat­en­ing in­juries and was trans­ported to Regina via STARS air am­bu­lance.

There were no other pas­sen­gers in the ve­hi­cles at the time of the col­li­sion.

Maple Creek RCMP, the Maple Creek Fire De­part­ment and EMS per­son­nel all re­sponded to the scene.

High­way #21 was closed for sev­eral hours to al­low for an in­ves­ti­ga­tion and to clean up the col­li­sion scene.
