Mcleods and Parsonage top Grass Roots Tour
Three Southwest cowboys combined to win two events at the CPRA Grass Roots Pro Rodeo Canada Final in Calgary on September 27-28.
Maple Creek’s Jared Parsonage won Bull Riding handily in average with a score of 161.5 to pocket $2,500. He was second in go-round one with 85.5 points for $937. Parsonage was the only cowboy to last eight seconds in go-round two with a 76-point ride for $3,125.
Parsonage currently leads the Grass Roots Bull Riding season standings with $16,537.
Waldeck’s Tyce and Tuftin Mcleod also won Team Roping at the Finals with a pair of impressive performances. They won go-round one in 4.7 seconds for $2,500 and then placed second in go-round two in 5.0 seconds for $1,875. Their combined total of 9.7 seconds resulted in a $5,000 payday.
Tyce Mcleod leads the Heeler standings with $12,670, while Tuftin leads all Headers with $14,756. Tuftin is third in the CPRA rookie standings and Tyce is fifth.
The Mcleods and Parsonage will be participating in the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer on October 30 – November 4.
