Le­gion­naires split home stand

The Swift Cur­rent Home Hard­ware Le­gion­naires split a two-game home stand in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League over the week­end.

Fri­day, Bos­ton Bird scored mid­way through over­time as the Le­gion­naires de­feated the vis­it­ing Moose Jaw Gen­er­als 4-3.

Hen­drik de Klerk, Ma­son Strutt, and Maguire Scheidt also scored for the Le­gion­naires.

Lo­gan Lin­klater, Strutt, Bird, and Reed Ja­cob­son all picked up as­sists. Ethan Hein earned the win with 25 saves on 28 shots.

Evan Sare, Cody Davis, and Jake Plamer replied for the Gen­er­als. Reece Hod­son took the loss with 35 saves.

Sun­day, the Le­gion­naires al­lowed three goals in un­der eight min­utes in the sec­ond pe­riod dur­ing a 5-3 loss to the Regina Pat Cana­di­ans.

Ja­cob­son scored twice, while Strutt and Bird each picked up a pair of as­sists. Lin­klater also scored, while Chase Gal­lant and Lu­cas Ochitwa added as­sists.

Ethan Hein took the loss af­ter al­low­ing four goals on 17 shots over 25:12. Ja­cob Her­man made 14 saves on 15 shots over 32:20.

The Le­gion­naires fin­ished the week in fourth place in the 12-team league with an 8-4 record.

The Le­gion­naires will head north this week­end to face the Bat­tle­fords Stars (2-8-0-1).
