North Shore man charged with driv­ing while sus­pended

mo­tor ve­hi­cle; three counts of driv­ing while dis­qual­i­fied - court or­der; fail­ing to com­ply with re­cog­ni­zance; unau­tho­rized pos­ses­sion of a firearm; pos­ses­sion of firearm or am­mu­ni­tion con­trary to pro­hi­bi­tion or­der; pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime over $5,000; fail­ing to stop for po­lice (pur­suit); driv­ing while un­der sus­pen­sion; use plate not au­tho­rized for ve­hi­cle; use val­i­da­tion not fur­nished for ve­hi­cle; and speed­ing 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit.

The ac­cused is sched­uled to ap­pear in Blind River Court on Oct. 4.

On Aug. 31, at ap­prox­i­mately 5 p.m., East Al­goma OPP mem­bers were pa­trolling on High­way 17 in the Town­ship of the North Shore.

Po­lice ob­served a mini­van op­er­at­ing is a sus­pi­cious man­ner. A sub­se­quent traf­fic stop was con­ducted and in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed the driver was sus­pended. This re­sulted in the male driver charged and his ve­hi­cle was towed.

Lu­cien Sal­vador, 69 years of age, from the North Shore Town­ship, was charged with: driv­ing while sus­pended.
