Reg Simon running for separate school trustee

The Standard (Elliot Lake) - - ELECTION -

i have been a member of our lady of Fatima Church since 1972 and a resident of Elliot lake for 46 years.

my wife Carol and i have three children and three grandchildren. all our children attended our lady of lourdes School and our grandchildren are enrolled in the Catholic school system in southern ontario.

i spent four years as a trustee on the north Shore Separate School board before amalgamation with the Sault board.

Working and travelling out of town prevented me from continuing to run for the position of trustee. Since i have recently retired, i am looking forward to serving the north Shore district once again on the huron-superior Catholic district School board.

a strong voice and accountability will be my focus and commitment to the parents, teachers and students of our Catholic community schools.

our Catholic schools continually come under attack by governments trying to eliminate the Catholic education system. i believe our Catholic schools are unique and provide a high quality education based on Catholic values.

parents are the first educators and with the help of teachers, support staff and board members working together, we can ensure equity for all children in our schools.

i am committed to having a strong voice in policies that guide our schools to ensure that the needs of all small Catholic school are addressed.

i am counting on your support.

Reg Simon
