Standard to host weekly photo contest
on Nov. 15, The standard, in conjunction with the Palace Theatre 2 in blind river, will introduce a photo contest called ‘North shore outdoors.’
The weekly photo contest is for pictures taken in The standard’s coverage area, which runs from massey and sagamok anishinabek First Nation to iron bridge.
The photo must be digital and be an outdoor scene in this area. The region has a massive amount of fantastic scenery and hidden gems. The photos could include wildlife, an outdoor scene, even people having a picnic in the background, as along as the emphasis is on the scene, not the people.
When the photo was taken does not matter. it could be 15 years old or more, but it must be the amateur photographer who actually took the picture who sends it in. The photographer must say where and when the photo was taken.
The winner of the week’s contest will have their photograph and name printed in The standard, as well as on our website at www. elliotlakestandard.ca each Thursday.
The week’s winner will receive two tickets to the Palace Theatre 2 in blind river, redeemable at any time, not necessarily that week’s feature at the theatre.
alex solomon, owner of Palace Theatre 2 in blind river, says “We’re happy to be able to participate in the contest.
“and it gives people the opportunity to submit pictures of this area that they find interesting.”
he adds that the scenery in the region is excellent.
“i wake up to some of the most beautiful sunrises every morning,” solomon says, whose house overlooks lake huron.
email the photographs to The standard at firstname.lastname@example.org .
