Ni­a­gara man ac­cused of ha­rass­ing Hamil­ton city coun­cil

A 36-year-old Ni­a­gara man is ac­cused of send­ing threat­en­ing emails to Hamil­ton city coun­cil mem­bers.

Hamil­ton Po­lice said they wouldn’t re­lease how many coun­cil­lors were tar­geted “in or­der to main­tain the in­tegrity of the case.”

Po­lice did say a city coun­cil­lor re­ceived sev­eral emails that were threat­en­ing in na­ture over a two-week pe­riod. The na­ture of the threats was not re­leased by po­lice.

The Ni­a­gara man was ar­rested Thurs­day for crim­i­nal ha­rass­ment with the as­sis­tance of Ni­a­gara Re­gional Po­lice.

The man’s name has not been re­leased by po­lice. Hamil­ton po­lice are ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent to con­tact Det.Const. An­drea Ku­ruc at 1-905546-4861.
