Niagara’s falls to turn purple for royal wedding
Niagara’s falls will be bathed in purple on Saturday in honour of the royal wedding. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will light up the falls in a royal shade of purple for 30 minutes starting at 9 p.m. to mark the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The illumination of thre Horseshoe Falls in commemoration of a royal visit, wedding or birth has long been part of the history of Niagara.
In recent years, the falls have been illuminated in purple to honour of events such as the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as to recognize the births of Prince
George, Princess Charlotte and most recently, Prince Louis.
