The Beaver is coming to Niagara Falls.

Jerry Mathers, star of the iconic ’50s sitcom “Leave It to Beaver,” will make his Canadian comic con debut when he appears at next year’s Niagara Falls Comic Con, June 7 to 9.

Mathers, who turned 70 in June, has long been on Comic Con co-founder Chris Dabrowski’s wish list.

“I started reaching out to Jerry in 2012, trying to convince him to come to Niagara Falls,” he says. “Finally, six years later, he agreed. Our persistence paid off.

“The fact our event is in Niagara Falls was definitely a deciding factor.”

Mathers was nine years old when he played the iconic Theodore (Beaver) Cleaver on the CBC sitcom, which premiered in October 1957.

He would appear in all 234 episodes over six seasons. He reprised the role in a 1983 madefor-TV movie, “Still the Beaver,” which spawned a syndicated new show, “The New Leave It to Beaver.”

Mathers will appear at all three days of Comic Con at Scotiabank Convention Centre. Previously announced guests include Bruce Campbell and Cary Elwes, with about 20 more guests to announce, says Dabrowski.

Tickets start at $25, available at www.nfcomiccon.com.
