THEIR JOURNEY BEGINS IN SUDBURY
Greater Sudbury paramedics Aaron Barney, left, Lisa Desjardins, Blaise Quennevhlle, Chris Dumond, Jessica Ryan and Annik Thibault have switched their ambulances for bicycles as they departed from Sudbury to Toronto on Thursday. The local group leaves Toronto on Friday with about 180 other riders, on a 500-kilometre journey to Ottawa to raise awareness and funds in support of the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation. The foundation plans to have a monument built in Ottawa, to commemorate those paramedics who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty. The local paramedics have raised more than $2,000 so far.
