A Sud­bury driver was clocked do­ing nearly dou­ble the speed limit on High­way 69 this week. On Monday, shortly be­fore 4 p.m., mem­bers from the North­east High­way Safety Di­vi­sion of the OPP were con­duct­ing radar en­force­ment on High­way 69 between the Kil­lar­ney turnoff and Al­ban. “Po­lice ob­served a north­bound ve­hi­cle trav­el­ling at 180 kilo­me­tres per hour in a 100 km/hr zone and con­ducted a traf­fic stop,” the OPP said in a re­lease. Kyle Lounds­bury, 30, from Sud­bury, was charged with racing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle. Louds­bury’s li­cence was sus­pended for seven days and his ve­hi­cle was also im­pounded for seven days. The ac­cused is sched­ule to ap­pear be­fore the On­tario Court of Jus­tice in Sud­bury on Nov. 20.
