Driver was going 180
A Sudbury driver was clocked doing nearly double the speed limit on Highway 69 this week. On Monday, shortly before 4 p.m., members from the Northeast Highway Safety Division of the OPP were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 69 between the Killarney turnoff and Alban. “Police observed a northbound vehicle travelling at 180 kilometres per hour in a 100 km/hr zone and conducted a traffic stop,” the OPP said in a release. Kyle Loundsbury, 30, from Sudbury, was charged with racing a motor vehicle. Loudsbury’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days. The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Nov. 20.
