Supporting United Way

The Sudbury Star - - NEWS -

The 18th annual United Way Labour Breakfast took place Friday at the United Steelworkers Hall. The event recognized labour for its efforts in the community and also acts as an annual fundraising initiative. “This event has become one of many ways the labour movement supports United Way. For instance, Labour Council affiliates are also active volunteers with United Way and help determine the local needs in our community,” Jamie West, president of the Sudbury and District Labour Council, said in a release. “Unions, workers and the overall labour movement have had a long and rich history with United Way. We have been working together for 35 years – since the United Way first came to Sudbury.”
