OPP re­leases Oc­to­ber snap­shot

Dur­ing the month of Oc­to­ber, the Sud­bury de­tach­ment of the OPP re­sponded to 554 calls for ser­vice, which in­cluded seven vi­o­lencere­lated in­ci­dents; 21 prop­er­tyre­lated calls; four drug-re­lated in­ci­dents; one fa­tal­ity; four per­sonal in­jury calls; 32 in­stances of prop­erty dam­age; 37 mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sions; and one im­paired by al­co­hol in­ci­dent. Of­fi­cers from the Sud­bury de­tach­ment and the High­way Safety Divi­sion pa­trol the high­ways to en­sure road safety and to con­duct traf­fic en­force­ment through­out the Sud­bury, French River, St-Charles, Mark­stay-War­ren and Kil­lar­ney areas. If you plan on drink­ing or con­sum­ing drugs, don’t drive. In­stead, ar­range for a des­ig­nated driver, take a taxi or pub­lic tran­sit, stay overnight or stay home.
