Poll a waste of money

The Sudbury Star - - OPINION -

Is the city actually going to poll what happened at this year’s election through Oracle or is this a second April 1st?

Why are they wasting tax dollars polling a situation that only those who were affected can comment on?

There is no doubt about the results of this poll. The general response will be satisfaction.

The mayor himself was quoted as calling the voting a “colossal failure”.

Was he lying when he said that or was he covering all bases in case the results had him losing?

In my opinion and that of others, he was correct in his assessment of the situation.

The hopes of the mayor and the city that this type of polling at taxpayer cost will validate what took place is an insult to all those who were disenfranchised.

Those are the people who should be referenced, not a popularity issue across the entire public.

To conduct this type of polling will simply tell those who had their voting rights compromised that they don’t count in the Bigger picture.

I, for one, am highly offended to see my tax dollars used in this manner.

Shame on those who dreamed this up. Thomas Price Whitefish
