A mix of beloved and emerging authors are on the lineup for this year’s Festival at Ochre Pit Cove, set on a backdrop of a historic property and local art and cuisine.

It’s the fifth anniversary for the festival, which celebrates Newfoundland and Labrador books, music and art. It’s held at Ochre House Retreat, a former United church at Ochre Pit Cove renovated into a five-bedroom vacation/studio facility in Conception Bay.

This year’s festival will be held June 16 and 17, featuring authors such as Kevin Major, Glenn Deir and Trudy Morgan-cole on the first night; Major will read from his historical novel “Found Far and Wide,” while Deir will read from “The Money Shot.” Morgan-cole will read from her novel “A Sudden Sun,” and will give a preview of her upcoming book, “Most Anything You Please.”

The second night will include Robert Chafe reading from his BMO Winterset Award-nominated “Two Man Tent,” Eva Crocker reading from “Barrelling Forward” and new author Bridget Canning reading from her novel “The Greatest Hits of Wanda Jaynes.” Musical guests will be What Odds (June 16) and Sandy Morris and Jenny Gear (June 17).

Festival tickets go on sale May 1 at Breakwater Books (1 Stamp’s Lane), Travel Bug (197 Water St.) and Small Point General Store in Small Point, as well as online at www.thefestivalatochrepitcove.com. Separate tickets are required for the Cod Sounds food event, at a cost of $15.
