Demers’ health status unclear
Senator and former Montreal Canadiens coach Jacques Demers is back at home after going to hospital Saturday. His Senate office didn’t provide details about why the 72-year-old went to hospital. Demers suffered a stroke in April, but he was at the Canadiens’ home opener Tuesday, smiling in a wheelchair during a pre-game ceremony. Demers led the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup in 1993.
