DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND DIETARY SERVICES
Alderwood is located in the beautiful community of Baddeck in the heart of Cape Breton. As a member of the senior management team, the Director of Environmental and Dietary Services collaborates with the dietician on resident nutritional care and menu preparation; develops, monitor and evaluates KPIS, policies and processes that comply with regulating agencies and leads to best practices. The Director manages the day-to-day operations of the departments within the budget guidelines and is willing and capable to work flexible hours and to conduct hands-on daily duties as required. The Director is responsible to coordinate training sessions for staff to promote safe, quality and efficient service to the residents to ensure the provision of comprehensive, quality services to all residents which meet the Mission, Vision and Values of Alderwood.
• Diploma in food service or related field • 2 years experience in institutional food service and/or environmental services in a
management position • Thorough knowledge of provincial and federal regulations • Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with a working knowledge
of computers including Excel; Outlook; Office; Power Point • Proven ability with inventory management and meet financial targets • Experience with hiring; scheduling; negotiating • Ability to fulfill the roles and responsibilities as described in the Director of Environmental
and Dietary Job Position Outline • Demonstrated ability in problem solving; is flexible; has strong organizational skills • History of satisfactory attendance and capable to meet the demands of the job
