CARD OF THANKS

The Victoria Standard - - Obituaries / Notices -

I wish to thank all of you who stepped up with your help, support and encouragement after my header down the basement stairs. To my dear friends whose impromptu visit had them find me at the foot of the basement stairs, sitting in a pool of javel with my left leg akimbo, and called 911. To the first responders who secured the area, made it safe for all the rest who were to follow, kept me calm, and as comfortable as possible and made me know I was among friends. May your eardrums mend soon. To the paramedics whose skill and inclusive manner kept up my confidence and got me to the hospital in a good mood. To the ferry crew who had the ferry waiting and gave us priority boarding. To all of you who pitched in to care for my pets, Effie and Timi, and make sure that my home was secured while I was away; and, beyond all imagining, cleaned and prepared for my rental guests who had no idea what all had gone into making their vacation homes just as lovely as they had expected. To all of you who have visited, offered to help now and in the future, sent cards of encouragement and brought food packets. You are all the embodiment of the most ideal community that anyone could dream of belonging to. I thank you with my eyes brimming over and beg you to please keep your staircases clear.
