John Roy (Jack) Parsons

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Roy (Jack) Parsons of West Side Middle River, formerly of North Sydney. He was born in North Sydney, July 18, 1931. He was the son of the late Clarence and Susan (Mulley) Parsons.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, of 61 years, Rhoda (Macrae); daughters, Cathy (Archie) Maclellan; Dorothy (Bruce) Maclellan; Sharon (Bruce) Macintyre; sons, John (Marsha); Clarence (Terry); Jimmy (Sharon); his 15 treasured grandchildren, 3 precious great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy, Doreen; brothers, Donald, William and Gordon also many nieces and nephews Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother James.
A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jack worked with Nova Scotia Power for many years before retiring. When he retired, he and Rhoda moved to his favorite place, Middle River, to be closer to their grandchildren.
A great storyteller, he loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was also an Elder at the Middle River United Church.
Funeral Service was held on October 5 with Rev. Brian Macleod officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in memory of the late, John Roy “Jack” Parsons may be made to the Middle River United Church or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
