John Roy (Jack) Par­sons

It is with great sad­ness we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of John Roy (Jack) Par­sons of West Side Mid­dle River, for­merly of North Syd­ney. He was born in North Syd­ney, July 18, 1931. He was the son of the late Clarence and Su­san (Mul­ley) Par­sons.

Jack is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, of 61 years, Rhoda (Macrae); daugh­ters, Cathy (Archie) Maclel­lan; Dorothy (Bruce) Maclel­lan; Sharon (Bruce) Macin­tyre; sons, John (Mar­sha); Clarence (Terry); Jimmy (Sharon); his 15 trea­sured grand­chil­dren, 3 pre­cious great grand­chil­dren; sis­ters, Dorothy, Doreen; broth­ers, Don­ald, Wil­liam and Gor­don also many nieces and neph­ews Be­sides his par­ents he was pre­de­ceased by his brother James.

A Vet­eran of the Korean Con­flict, Jack worked with Nova Sco­tia Power for many years be­fore re­tir­ing. When he re­tired, he and Rhoda moved to his fa­vorite place, Mid­dle River, to be closer to their grand­chil­dren.

A great sto­ry­teller, he loved hunt­ing, fish­ing and spend­ing time with his fam­ily and friends. He was also an El­der at the Mid­dle River United Church.

Fu­neral Ser­vice was held on October 5 with Rev. Brian Ma­cleod of­fi­ci­at­ing. Fam­ily flow­ers only.
