The Commission on Inclusive Education's public engagement phase starts on Tuesday, Nov. 21, with public workshops, an online survey and other ways for people to share their stories.

"We know there are lots of families, teachers, students and others who have been looking forward to this phase of our work," said Sarah Shea, chair of the commission. "We are pleased to launch the public engagement with numerous ways for people to participate."

Nova Scotians can participate in the following ways:

-- fill in the online survey from Nov. 21 to Dec. 15

-- register for one of the public workshops. Space is limited, so pre-registration is requested.

-- share your story by preparing a short video, of two to three minutes or write your vision of a new model of inclusive education to help the commission understand what is working, what is not, and what is possible

A multi-site francophone session, via videoconference, is planned for Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in partnership with Conseil scolaire acadien provincial. Details on how to participate will be posted on the commission's website.

"The input gathered through all forms of public engagement will guide all aspects of this important work on behalf of the children and youth of Nova Scotia," said Ms. Shea. "Together we will create a new provincial vision and model for inclusive education."

For details on how to submit input, register for a workshop and other details, go to www. inclu .
