It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of George William Fraser, age 75, beloved brother, un­cle, grand­uncle and friend, on Sun­day, March 11, 2018, at the Alder­wood Rest Home, Bad­deck. Born in North Syd­ney, Dec 12, 1942, he was the son of the late David Drum­mond Fraser and Mary Is­abel ‘Ma­bel’ (Macdon­ald) Fraser.

George worked as a farmer all his life, un­til tak­ing early re­tire­ment due to com­pli­ca­tions from Parkin­son’s Dis­ease. He was an el­der of Knox Pres­by­te­rian Church, Ross Ferry for 50 years and trea­surer of the church for 48 years. He was a mem­ber of the South­side Boularderie Fire Depart­ment, as well as be­ing the trea­surer for ten years.

George is sur­vived by his broth­ers, Sandy and David, South­side Boularderie; his sis­ter, Mary (Keith) Ryan, Bad­deck; neph­ews, Rod­die Fraser, South­side Boularderie and William (Rose) Fraser, Beech­mont; two grand­nieces, Alexan­dria and Yz­abella, and sis­ter-in-law, Roberta Fraser, South­side Boularderie.

By re­quest there will be no vis­i­ta­tion. A fu­neral ser­vice was held March 14 at Knox Pres­by­te­rian Church, Ross Ferry with Rev. Peter Macdon­ald of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will take place at Macdon­ald Memo­rial Ceme­tery at a later date.

In lieu of flow­ers, Memo­rial do­na­tions may be made to Knox Pres­by­te­rian Church, Ross Ferry, Alder­wood Rest Home, Bad­deck, or Hospice Pal­lia­tive Care Vic­to­ria County Memo­rial Hos­pi­tal.
