To err is human, to correct is divine
To the editor:
That was a robust list of errors and corrections on page 2 of the Aug. 1 edition. Perhaps your staff feels embarrassed when corrections are published. As a reader, I feel the opposite. My confidence and respect for a publication only increase when I know it will promptly and prominently correct its errors. Mistakes are inevitable. Owning up is rare.
