The Celtic Colours International Festival attracts many musicians. This year I spent one evening in Mabou at the Red Shoe Pub with Boston fiddler Rachel Reeds and friends. The above jig can be heard on Sparkjoy, her lovely new CD, (available on Cdbaby). Featuring Rachel’s strong fiddling, one surprise to me was the fine piano accompaniment of Andrea Beaton (most think of her as a Cape Breton fiddler). Andrea also contributed a new G minor reel to the project.

Written to commemorate a Thanksgiving feast when one Allie Thompson contributed the pies, without that background a piper could easily assume the title above contains a typo.
